Role Overview
The Insurance Manager will oversee and enhance the organization's insurance strategies, policies, and programs across multiple jurisdictions. This position acts as the main coordinator for the UAE, operating companies, and international operations, requiring robust industry relationships and expertise in asset-heavy sectors, preferably including data centers.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and administer extensive insurance plans to protect company assets and reduce risk exposures.
- Assess and advise on suitable coverages such as property, liability, business interruption, and specialized insurances.
- Utilize and expand industry networks to secure advantageous terms and premiums when engaging with brokers, insurers, and underwriters.
- Keep informed on market developments, regulatory changes, and new risk types to align strategies with best industry standards.
- Perform risk evaluations for current and prospective projects and assets, collaborating internally to address identified risks that support organizational goals.
- Manage the insurance claims lifecycle, ensuring prompt and accurate submission, negotiation, and settlement.
- Serve as the liaison for insurance carriers and claims adjusters.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and contractual insurance obligations.
- Generate and deliver detailed reports on coverage, claims, and risk management to executive management.
- Coordinate efforts with finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure thorough insurance coverage and risk control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive background and connections within asset-intensive industries.
- Previous data center industry experience considered a strong advantage.
- Solid foundation in insurance strategies, risk oversight, and policy formulation.
- Demonstrated competence in managing insurance programs and claims.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related disciplines.
- Professional credentials such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), or CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor).
- At least 10 years' industry experience in insurance management, including a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance-related laws and compliance standards.
