Job description

Overview

We are looking for a proficient Inspector specializing in coating applications to ensure that all painting and coating tasks meet project-specific criteria, industry standards, and client expectations. This role requires expertise in lifting operations, detailed industrial inspections, and adherence to international guidelines. The selected candidate will also be tasked with delivering training sessions, supervising trainees, assisting in inspection processes, and aiding business growth efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect surface preparation and all painting and coating activities thoroughly.
  • Verify environmental factors before and throughout the coating application process.
  • Perform specialized coating inspection tests such as Dry Film Thickness, Wet Film Thickness, surface profile assessments, adhesion testing, holiday/pinhole detection, and dew point and humidity evaluations.
  • Review and assess contractors’ coating methods, inspection documentation, and quality records to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable standards.
  • Oversee and record coating inspections and related tests.
  • Compile detailed inspection reports and maintain corresponding quality documentation.
  • Detect any deviations from standards and propose necessary corrective measures.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders concerning coating quality issues.
  • Carry out all inspection activities in full alignment with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior inspector with extensive experience ranging from 10 to 15 years within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Must possess NACE Grade 2 or an equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with QatarEnergy standards is highly desirable.
  • Experience in offshore environments and working with Qatar energy projects is preferred.
  • Prior employment with oil and gas firms operating in Qatar is advantageous.
  • Current availability within Qatar is preferred.
