Role Summary
The Inspector is responsible for performing comprehensive inspections of vehicles to evaluate safety features, mechanical conditions, and regulatory adherence. Key duties involve assessing components such as brakes, suspension systems, steering, tires, lighting, and emissions. Accurate documentation and report preparation are essential, alongside effective communication with customers and colleagues regarding inspection outcomes and recommended repairs or servicing.
Maintaining detailed records, operating diagnostic tools properly, and following all safety and regulatory guidelines within the facility are critical aspects of the role. This position requires a full-time, on-site presence at the Laventille garage to work closely with technicians and management.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Class 1 to 4 driver's permit
- Certified as an inspector or willingness to sit for the inspector certification exam
- Mechanics certification
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey inspection results and advice
- Capability to work standing for long durations and handle tools safely in a workshop environment
- Demonstrated punctuality, responsibility, and adherence to safety protocols and company policies
- Prior experience in automotive inspection or related mechanical roles is advantageous
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in automotive technology are preferred
