Infrastructure & Systems Security Team Lead

Role Overview

This leadership position involves managing and supporting the security, reliability, and availability of IT infrastructure and systems spanning on-premises and cloud platforms. The role ensures the secure and stable delivery of essential IT services by overseeing networks, enforcing infrastructure security, managing access controls, handling vulnerability management, and maintaining business continuity protocols.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee IT infrastructure across physical environments, Microsoft Azure, DEEM Cloud, and hybrid cloud systems.
• Continuously monitor infrastructure service availability, performance, and capacity, resolving technical problems impacting service delivery.
• Support data center components, server operations, backup solutions, and associated technologies.
• Apply and uphold secure configuration standards and hardening across infrastructure elements.
• Manage enterprise network setups including routers, switches, VLANs, MPLS, WAN connections, and wireless networks.
• Track network health and availability; troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure challenges.
• Safeguard secure connectivity among on-premises sites, cloud environments, internet services, and third-party providers.
• Support unified communication systems such as Cisco Call Manager, voice gateways, and SIP protocols as necessary.
• Implement and sustain security controls on networks, servers, endpoints, databases, cloud services, and digital platforms.
• Administer security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, web proxies, endpoint protections, and secure remote access.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents based on severity and technical impact, and respond accordingly.
• Assist in incident containment, recovery processes, and enhancement of security monitoring capabilities.
• Manage user, system, and application access rights aligned with security policies and the principle of least privilege.
• Support multi-factor authentication and additional access protection across relevant platforms.
• Analyze vulnerability assessment outcomes and coordinate patching and remediation actions.
• Verify effectiveness and completion of security updates, technical hardening, and corrections.
• Support backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery functions for critical IT assets.
• Participate in disaster recovery drills, failover tests, and service restoration exercises.
• Confirm preparedness and recoverability of key systems across cloud and data center environments.
• Identify technical risks to infrastructure uptime and support implementation of mitigation strategies.
• Assist in infrastructure projects, upgrades, and implementations in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Examine infrastructure and security readiness prior to launching new systems or services.
• Ensure security measures do not negatively impact system performance, connectivity, or uptime.
• Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers on infrastructure requirements and issue resolution.
• Produce regular reports on infrastructure availability, security events, vulnerabilities, risk management, and remediation status.
• Track technical and security KPIs, identify recurring problems, and recommend improvements.
• Maintain comprehensive technical and security documentation for continuity, audits, and future enhancements.
• Propose actionable improvements related to infrastructure, security protections, monitoring technology, and operational workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in relevant technical areas.
