Job description
Role Overview
The Information Technology Specialist is tasked with the installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, evaluation, and repair of computer networks, workstations, and server systems. The role includes managing supporting hardware and software, administering user accounts, and maintaining computer and telephone room systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and educate users on the proper use and security protocols of all IT systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues relating to hardware, software, LAN/WAN, and internet connectivity.
- Respond promptly to program error messages and provide network communication support.
- Escalate major technical issues to vendors or specialized technicians.
- Recommend and implement improvements to IT processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Collaborate to assess and resolve computing needs and system requirements.
- Perform inspections, testing, and diagnosis of computer equipment and systems.
- Coordinate IT-related equipment installations, relocations, system enhancements, and modifications.
- Plan and enforce network security measures.
- Offer end-user support for all applications and manage disk space across the network.
- Maintain up-to-date inventories of all technology devices.
- Execute computer commands and controls as required.
- Safeguard backup tapes by storing them in fireproof safes.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, report hazards or unsafe conditions, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Address guest service requirements and support colleagues when needed.
- Maintain professionalism in communication, including telephone etiquette.
- Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Develop and foster positive teamwork and cooperative relationships.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and propose innovations to boost organizational productivity, efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Physically capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds; able to stand, sit, or walk for extended durations; navigate stairs and ramps; and use computer/POS systems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Possess a degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
- Have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in IT.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- No specific licenses or certifications are mandatory.
