Role Overview

This opportunity offers two permanent, full-time positions within the Operational Information Management area of the Department of Justice located in Greater Perth. These roles focus on managing administrative and case records collections, providing access to vital information for decision making across the Department.

One position (013555) operates within the Offender Information Management team handling custodial and community offender records. The other (6198) sits with the Health Information Management team concerned with offender medical records management.

Key Responsibilities and Work Environment

Candidates will engage with numerous internal and external stakeholders to support records and information management strategies. Responsibilities include assessing information critically, implementing best-practice records management (both hard copy and digital), and adapting to evolving trends in information management.

Physical requirements include the ability to travel within the metropolitan area and lift items up to 16 kilograms.

Essential Competencies and Selection Criteria

  • Rescheduling tasks and adapting priorities judiciously while achieving assigned objectives on time.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively in both written and spoken formats, ensuring understanding and engaging thoughtfully.
  • Upholding high standards of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct, maintaining accuracy in information dissemination, and managing workload responsively.
  • Developing and nurturing respectful and productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, sharing relevant information, and responding constructively to feedback.
  • Appreciating the strategic context of decisions in the division, anticipating challenges, contributing to planning, and analyzing relevant information pragmatically.
  • Experience with records and information management systems and relevant software technologies.
  • Understanding legislative requirements pertinent to recordkeeping and compliance.
