Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Industrial Millwright to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario. The position involves working under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the proper functioning of all steelmaking equipment and heavy industrial machinery. Candidates must be certified and have proven experience in a similar industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining steelmaking machinery and equipment.
- Handle installation, repair, and maintenance of heavy industrial devices including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors, hoists, mobile equipment, fans, blowers, heat exchangers, and cooling towers.
- Interpret technical drawings, manufacturer specifications, and equipment manuals to identify faults, plan repairs or installations, and determine materials needed.
- Perform any additional assigned duties as required by supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold a valid Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanical Millwright (433A).
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright, ideally within a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including days, nights, afternoons, with availability for overtime and occasional weekends.
- Strong mechanical skills with demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to safety with a solid safety record.
- Adaptable and motivated to perform in a fast-paced, lean operational environment emphasizing innovation and hard work.
Additional Information
A shift differential is offered: $0.35 premium for afternoon shifts and $0.55 for night shifts.
