Role Overview
This position presents a remarkable opportunity to join a quickly expanding Indirect Tax team in an exciting phase of growth. We are seeking a qualified Consultant to support our Irish Indirect Tax services, enabling them to deepen expertise and advance professionally within a creative and supportive environment while collaborating with excellent clients.
The role involves delivering Indirect Tax compliance and advisory services, assisting the management team, and engaging in various client-related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio of Indirect Tax clients from industries including Irish publicly listed companies, large multinationals, semi-State bodies, and significant privately-owned enterprises.
- Partnering closely with senior leaders to provide advanced advisory and consulting on Indirect Tax matters.
- Supporting process improvements within Indirect Tax functions, employing technology solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Interacting promptly and effectively with clients to advise, research, and resolve Indirect Tax and technical queries during consultancy engagements.
- Maintaining full commercial oversight of assigned client projects.
- Collaborating with other RSM departments to identify Indirect Tax opportunities for existing clients.
- Handling correspondence with Revenue authorities and third parties on client behalf.
- Mentoring and supervising associate-level trainees, including delivering internal Indirect Tax training sessions.
- Contributing actively to the development and expansion of the Indirect Tax practice.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Irish Indirect Tax compliance and advisory work.
- Familiarity with VAT on property transactions, Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT), due diligence, and cross-border deals is advantageous though not mandatory.
- Prior experience at a Big4 or Top10 professional services firm is desirable but not essential.
- Strong academic background in accounting, economics, finance, law, or related disciplines.
- Partially or fully qualified with AITI, CTA, or an equivalent credential.
- Skilled at leading and ensuring positive outcomes across multiple client engagements.
- Experience managing international client relationships spanning several jurisdictions.
- Keen appetite for continual learning and application of expertise to client challenges.
- Excellent relationship-building ability; adept at assessing situations and adapting interactions accordingly.
- Creativity in generating innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication, complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
- Energetic team player and effective manager who inspires and nurtures others' growth.
- Highly motivated with a firm commitment to personal development.
