About GovTech and the Role

GovTech is Singapore's leading agency championing the Smart Nation vision and steering digital transformation across the public sector. Serving as the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech enhances government capabilities in Data Science & AI, Application Development, Smart City technologies, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.

You will be seconded to the Information Technology Audit Department of the Auditor-General's Office (AGO) to perform IT audits supporting government and public sector audits.

The position begins with an intensive 3 to 6 months training program conducted by GovTech's IT Audit Shared Services team, after which you will undertake the IT Audit Officer role at AGO, reporting to the GovTech Director for performance evaluation with inputs from AGO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of government ICT environments, emerging technologies, and audit control requirements, including cloud computing, automation, and blockchain applications.
  • Support the planning and execution of IT audits on government ICT systems and processes, identifying control weaknesses and areas needing enhancement.
  • Gather audit evidence through interviews, system configuration reviews, and log analysis to substantiate audit conclusions.
  • Collaborate with auditees to evaluate internal controls and process effectiveness, recommending corrective measures.
  • Draft clear audit reports highlighting observations, concerns, and suggested improvements.
  • Verify that remediation actions effectively address root causes of identified issues.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • This position is open exclusively to Singapore Citizens due to sensitive information access.
  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields is required.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of three years' experience auditing IT systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of Operating Systems, Databases, Networks, or Enterprise Applications is essential; knowledge of government ICT environments is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP are preferred.
  • Proficiency in written, verbal, and presentation communication is important.
