About Air Products and Project Context
Air Products is a global leader in industrial gases with a history rooted in innovation and dedication to safety and environmental care. The NEOM Green Hydrogen Project represents one of the most complex and flagship endeavors undertaken by the company, involving EPC contract execution with NEOM Green Hydrogen Company. Air Products oversees design, construction, and delivery of Process Controls, Automation Systems, and IT/Digital Technology infrastructure that fully comply with local cybersecurity laws and standards to ensure safety and compliance.
Role Overview
Located at the project site in Duba, Tabuk Region, Saudi Arabia, the ICS Cybersecurity Engineer is a critical member of the cybersecurity task force. The role focuses on field verification of cyber assets to ensure adherence to project standards and site acceptance criteria. There is a strong coordination requirement with Engineering, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Client Operations teams concerning cybersecurity field verifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field verification of cybersecurity asset design, implementation, and testing to comply with standards and regulatory requirements needed for project commissioning and handover.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity asset registers and other vital documentation under guidance from cybersecurity leadership.
- Lead and facilitate cybersecurity risk assessments for Air Products' designs and vendor control systems, ensuring implementation of recommendations.
- Assist pre-commissioning and commissioning teams in validating firewall configurations, secure remote access, endpoint hardening, asset inventory accuracy, access control enforcement, and logging prior to system energization.
- Oversee development and execution of cybersecurity architecture, including FAT/SAT/CSAT testing procedures and performance evaluations.
- Authorize and verify third-party device access requests during commissioning and startup in coordination with subcontractors and vendors.
- Participate in cross-functional technical meetings as directed by cybersecurity leadership.
- Drive resolution of punch list items in collaboration with vendors and engineering teams during field verification.
- Support change management activities ensuring cybersecurity scope aligns with schedule and budget during design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Provide weekly status reports and dashboards to project cybersecurity leaders.
- Identify risks and opportunities, and compile lessons learned throughout project execution including vendor site visits.
- Support operational technology (OT) cybersecurity handover processes encompassing procedures, asset inventories, access management, and incident response coordination.
- Contribute to OT cybersecurity operations models including monitoring, patching, backups, disaster recovery, and secure remote support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering disciplines such as electronics & communication, instrumentation, or process automation, or equivalent qualifications.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in Operational Technology or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years focused on designing, building, or validating cybersecurity implementations for industrial control systems and networks.
- Practical experience implementing Saudi cybersecurity standards including HCIS, NCA, CRA compliance, and ISA 62443 standards.
- In-depth understanding of control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs), protocols (Modbus, PROFINET, DNP3, IEC61850), and cybersecurity technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus, and vulnerability assessments within ICS/OT environments.
- Preferred certifications include ISA/IEC62443, SANS, CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 or comparable internationally recognized cybersecurity accreditations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities adaptable across all organizational levels.
Additional Information
