Hygiene Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a Hygiene Operative to join our manufacturing team at the Thirsk site. This key position involves maintaining high standards of hygiene in compliance with Cleaning In Place (CIC) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies to ensure food safety, quality, legal compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Work Hours and Compensation

This permanent role offers a rate of £13.31 per hour, equating to approximately £33,221 annually. The workweek consists of 48 hours distributed Monday to Thursday from 06:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 06:00 to 14:00. Monthly salary payments are made on the last Friday of each month. Please note, the site is not accessible by public transport, so personal transportation is required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled cleaning tasks according to CIC standards.
• Maintain accurate and complete daily, weekly, and periodic hygiene records.
• Carry out hygiene processes adhering to Health & Safety protocols, including COSHH regulations, product safety, legal, and quality standards.
• Practice and encourage clean-as-you-go habits consistently.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment correctly, including hairnets, safety shoes, overalls, chemical-resistant gloves, and safety glasses.
• Monitor and report pest sightings to management.
• Maintain a proactive attitude toward hygiene demands and develop versatility by becoming multiskilled.
• Demonstrate familiarity with cleaning tools and materials, ensuring proper maintenance.
• Ensure a safe work environment that complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Experience and Qualifications

• Prior experience in hygiene or similar operational roles is required.
• Basic understanding of Health and Safety principles.
• Ability to thoroughly complete assigned cleaning tasks.
• Fundamental knowledge of food safety practices.
