Job Overview
The HVDC Tender Technical Manager leads the comprehensive technical coordination and administration during the tender phase of substantial or intricate projects involving High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology, often on offshore platforms. This position acts as the primary technical liaison with customers and ensures the tender meets deadlines, budget, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical coordination and management throughout the HVDC tendering process.
- Serve as the main technical contact for customers, leading the development of optimal engineering solutions.
- Ensure technical tender designs adhere to strict deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- Manage the global scheduling of tender engineering tasks and enforce engineering process compliance.
- Coordinate technical activities across diverse work packages in large, multifaceted projects.
- Confirm technical solutions selected meet safety, reliability, cost-efficiency, and operational ease standards in accordance with customer expectations.
- Prepare engineering budgets and define project execution design strategies collaboratively with regional technical leaders and project managers.
- Lead coordination with Functional Engineering Leaders during project execution including control, platform, and layout/design experts.
- Engage with Project Engineers experienced in similar projects to leverage their expertise during execution phases.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years' professional experience in HVDC systems, FACTS, industrial or renewable sectors.
- Mandatory experience in HVDC/Grid Solution Integration industry.
- Proficient English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 20% or more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in engineering processes such as civil work, plant engineering, control and protection hardware, system and performance studies, or electrical design.
- Familiarity with standards and codes including IEC 62351, IEEE 1588, IEEE 802, IEEE 1402, IEC 62501, and NERC CIP.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport, influencing stakeholders, and articulating complex concepts clearly.
