HVAC Technician

Position Overview

This role is based at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, offering full-time employment that requires on-site presence. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for attending to repair requests from guests, maintenance of mechanical equipment, and ensuring smooth operation of air conditioning systems within a luxury hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests, maintaining clear communication to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspection of tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment.
• Operate and maintain utility shut-off valves and equipment controls to ensure safe functioning.
• Manage maintenance inventory by requisitioning necessary parts and supplies.
• Update other shifts daily with activities and issues encountered using established communication protocols.
• Maintain foundational knowledge in HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and electronic pneumatic systems.
• Carry out surface preparations, painting, minor drywall and wood repairs, bulb replacements, and A/C filter changes, ensuring cleanliness post work.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment such as plumbing fixtures, electrical components, vacuum cleaners, internet devices and guestroom utilities.
• Program television units and manage related housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
• Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures prior to maintenance work to ensure safety.
• Maintain and repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Use basic computer skills to input air handler schedules and adjust temperatures accordingly.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety, security policies, and procedural protocols, reporting hazards, incidents, and completing safety certifications.
• Ensure professional appearance and confidentiality, contribute to a welcoming guest experience and uphold quality standards.
• Support team efforts through positive communication and collaboration.
• Physically capable of lifting/moving objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier items with help, including use of stairs, ramps, and ladders, and performing physical actions such as bending and twisting.
• Perform additional reasonable job-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance including surface preparation and painting is preferred.
• Prior exposure to hotel engineering or maintenance roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
• No supervisory experience is needed for this position.
