Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Project/Contract Manager based full-time onsite in Wellington. This role encompasses managing HVAC projects from initial tender through to final completion. Key duties involve project planning, scheduling, resource management, and cost oversight. The manager will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams, handle contract management and project documentation, and guarantee that installation and maintenance comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Monitoring on-site progress, resolving technical and operational challenges, and delivering comprehensive status updates to stakeholders are essential responsibilities. Additionally, the role supports continuous process improvements, contributes to bid preparation, and fosters robust customer relationships through proactive and responsive communication.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Proven proficiency in HVAC systems encompassing design assessment, installation supervision, and system commissioning.
- Hands-on experience integrating Plumbing and HVAC services within commercial environments, effectively coordinating across multiple trades.
- Strong aptitude for troubleshooting HVAC and building services issues, enabling the implementation of practical technical remedies.
- Dedication to delivering superior Customer Service by cultivating professional client relationships and managing expectations adeptly.
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance strategies and their execution for HVAC and related building services.
- Holding a relevant trade qualification or an engineering/technical diploma in HVAC, mechanical, or building services disciplines; project management certification will be advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations, building codes, and commercial project standards.
- Competency with project management software, scheduling tools, and document management systems, complemented by excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Strong leadership skills to direct on-site teams, promote cross-disciplinary collaboration, and juggle multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
