Job description
Overview
Astute's Power Team is collaborating with a leading high voltage specialist based in Scotland, near Glasgow, to hire an experienced HV jointer. This role offers a competitive basic salary of up to £43,700 depending on experience, complemented by up to a 20% performance bonus, an annual profit share of approximately £8,000, guaranteed overtime opportunities, and additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform terminations and jointing tasks at 33kV level
- Conduct testing and fault diagnosis as required
- Excavate, shore up, and prepare joint bays for work
- Strictly follow health and safety protocols on site
- Be open to staying away from home during most weeks, Monday to Friday
Professional Background
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with 33kV or higher jointing activities
- Proven expertise in performing terminations and jointing
- Experience with underground and substation jointing is preferred
- Familiarity with new-build substation environments is a plus
Personal Attributes
- Strong problem-solving abilities in dynamic, complex settings
- Comfortable working outdoors in adverse weather conditions like wind and rain
- Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to engage hands-on
- Flexible and capable of adapting to ambiguous or changing work environments
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranging from £42,000 to £43,700 based on experience, with on-target earnings between £75,000 and £85,000
- Performance bonus up to 20% (~£8,000)
- Annual profit sharing approximately £8,000
