Role Overview

This position focuses on supporting multiple departments within the region to achieve strategic goals by developing effective people solutions, fostering relationships, and providing expert HR guidance. The role partners with line managers to implement HR processes and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overall effectiveness of talent management and people practices across different departments.
  • Implement, supervise, and coach line managers on HR processes throughout the year to ensure smooth operation.
  • Ensure flawless execution of HR functions within various teams.
  • Translate business priorities into clear, actionable organizational and people strategies, influencing the annual capability planning.
  • Analyze performance issues and collaborate with specialist teams to deliver integrated HR solutions tailored to teams and individuals.
  • Provide feedback to specialist teams on HR initiatives and identify ongoing improvement opportunities.
  • Track organizational performance and supply relevant data for people and organizational scorecards.
  • Address local HR delivery requirements such as employee and industrial relations, and compliance with statutory regulations, involving specialists as needed.
  • Contribute to HR Operations governance by assessing service quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain data accuracy within SAP HR systems at the local level.
  • Collaborate with People Managers to shape organizational and people agendas for departments.
  • Promote and monitor tool usage, assess competency gaps, and relay findings to Learning & Development teams.
  • Enhance coaching capabilities among line managers by equipping them with tools and providing feedback.
  • Recruit strategically based on competency observations from HR processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive HR support by collaborating with specialists and managing transactional processes, owning all HR matters in the function.
  • Support HR reporting that generates business insights and oversee the adoption of world-class HR practices within the company.
  • Ensure the HR operating model is implemented effectively, aligned with business needs to support departmental strategies and capability development.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Sociology, or related field
  • At least 5 years of human resources experience, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing sectors
  • Experience with Workday HR software considered advantageous
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Based in Gaborone with responsibilities covering the entire country, including travel to Francistown; role is transferable at any time
