The Plant Technician position focuses on optimizing and modifying process control systems, supporting their installation, and ensuring equipment maintenance and calibration to sustain plant operations and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment efficiently while adhering to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness standards consistently.
- Locate necessary plant components, spare parts, and relevant documentation or systems to facilitate tasks.
- Plan and prepare daily job activities ensuring readiness.
- Perform repair and maintenance tasks on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Continuously optimize plant and process equipment for improved performance.
- Calibrate instrumentation and operate process equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate effectively within teams and contribute towards team development.
- Implement 5S workplace organization and housekeeping practices diligently.
- Conduct autonomous maintenance and ensure quality control at source.
- Interpret process specifications to modify and optimize process control software following defined standards.
- Identify software deviations and troubleshoot or recommend corrective actions.
- Support change management processes for process control software, ensuring integrity and security.
- Develop and update preventative maintenance protocols for process control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions in packaging process control systems, coordinating with equipment manufacturers and suppliers as required.
- Stay updated on emerging instrumentation technologies and software by engaging in continuous learning through reading, workshops, or conferences.
- Offer engineering and project-related guidance on installation, upgrades, and enhancement of new and existing equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a National Craft Certificate or an equivalent credential.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
