Plant Technician

The Plant Technician position focuses on optimizing and modifying process control systems, supporting their installation, and ensuring equipment maintenance and calibration to sustain plant operations and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment efficiently while adhering to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness standards consistently.
• Locate necessary plant components, spare parts, and relevant documentation or systems to facilitate tasks.
• Plan and prepare daily job activities ensuring readiness.
• Perform repair and maintenance tasks on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Continuously optimize plant and process equipment for improved performance.
• Calibrate instrumentation and operate process equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Communicate effectively within teams and contribute towards team development.
• Implement 5S workplace organization and housekeeping practices diligently.
• Conduct autonomous maintenance and ensure quality control at source.
• Interpret process specifications to modify and optimize process control software following defined standards.
• Identify software deviations and troubleshoot or recommend corrective actions.
• Support change management processes for process control software, ensuring integrity and security.
• Develop and update preventative maintenance protocols for process control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions in packaging process control systems, coordinating with equipment manufacturers and suppliers as required.
• Stay updated on emerging instrumentation technologies and software by engaging in continuous learning through reading, workshops, or conferences.
• Offer engineering and project-related guidance on installation, upgrades, and enhancement of new and existing equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a National Craft Certificate or an equivalent credential.
• At least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
