Role Overview

ZMI Holdings seeks a vigilant and meticulous HSE Officer with expertise in marine industry safety protocols and regulations. This role focuses on maintaining a safe workplace and fostering a safety-conscious culture organization-wide.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and monitor compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
• Perform routine safety inspections and evaluate risks regularly.
• Design and conduct safety training sessions for staff members.
• Carry out thorough investigations of accidents or incidents to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
• Manage and update safety records and documentation.
• Partner with leadership to enhance safety policies and operational procedures.
• Stay current with applicable safety regulations and marine industry best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or comparable qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Documented experience in safety roles within the marine sector.
• Knowledgeable in safety management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
• Capable of working autonomously and effectively within teams.
• Preferred certification such as NEBOSH or OSHA in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Understanding of maritime safety standards is an added advantage.
