With over 40 years of expertise in semiconductor process control, KLA supports chipmakers globally to quickly scale production of cutting-edge devices. The Global Products Group (GPG) develops KLA's industry-leading metrology and inspection products, including LS-SWIFT, which provides high-volume semiconductor wafer inspection systems. These systems serve various markets such as foundry, logic, memory, automotive, MEMS, and advanced packaging, offering comprehensive defect detection. The LS-SWIFT division operates worldwide with teams in the US, Singapore, India, and Germany.

Role Summary

As a System Design Engineering Manager with a focus on AI Systems and High-Performance Computing (HPC), your role will be instrumental in advancing AI-driven technologies. Your leadership will steer innovation, optimize system performance, and ensure collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and system architects to build platforms for deep learning training and inference.
• Set the technical vision, strategy, and development roadmap for AI and deep learning systems within HPC.
• Partner with hardware and software teams to design and refine AI infrastructure integrations.
• Manage GPU cluster operations and scale infrastructure to support extensive AI training and inference workloads.
• Identify system bottlenecks to enhance performance and benchmark AI models and algorithms on HPC clusters.
• Engage with product managers, researchers, and stakeholders to align AI initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Report technical progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership effectively.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams, ideally within AI, HPC, or related sectors.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, alongside HPC tools like Slurm and OpenMPI.
• In-depth knowledge of GPU architectures, CUDA programming, and parallel computing methodologies.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud-based AI implementation.
• Strong leadership aptitude, including mentoring skills and expertise in decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Excellent communication abilities capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders and executive leaders.
