Role Overview and Responsibilities
In this role, you will ensure that all corridors and public spaces meet the hotel's high cleaning and safety standards to promote guest satisfaction. Key duties include:
- Inspecting assigned floors at both the start and end of shifts to remove newspapers, service trays, and empty trash bins.
- Transporting trash and linens appropriately, and noticing areas requiring urgent cleaning attention.
- Performing cleaning duties across public areas such as hallways, elevators, stairwells, and service zones while adhering to safety protocols.
- Supporting section housekeepers with tasks including handling bed boards and roll-ways.
- Restocking linen and supply closets to maintain established inventory levels.
- Reporting lost and found items, damages, or supply issues to supervisors.
- Addressing guest inquiries and concerns courteously and escalating complaints when necessary to maintain satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants do not require formal education or prior experience. Desired qualities and skills include:
- A self-motivated and composed disposition.
- Professional appearance aligned with role standards.
- Effective communication with guests, housekeeping staff, and supervisors.
- Ability to evaluate situations and respond according to established standards.
Physical Requirements
This position demands physical activities such as:
- Pushing a vacuum cleaner down hallways, transporting supplies and linens, and handling room service trays and dishes.
- Bending and kneeling for dusting and collecting items placed on the floor.
- Mobility to reach various surfaces including shelves, windows, and under furniture.
- Continuous standing and walking for extended periods.
- Climbing approximately 40 stairs, constituting about 15% of a 40-hour work week.
