Position Summary
The Houseman is tasked with preparing and maintaining conference rooms and lounges, including setup, cleanup, and breakdown in line with Aramark standards. This includes catering events and ensuring an optimal experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply fully with all health, safety, security, and sanitation policies of both Aramark and clients.
- Participate in loss prevention and safeguard company assets.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude even in high-pressure environments.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals.
- Efficiently manage time and resources to maximize productivity.
- Support training of team members on menus, service, and procedures as needed.
- Follow collective agreement rules and workplace regulations.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended durations.
- Adapt to varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and proper waste disposal at all times.
- Resolve guest complaints courteously and professionally.
- Provide attentive service anticipating guest needs to enhance satisfaction.
- Welcome guests promptly and offer helpful event and building information.
- Set up and rearrange event spaces as per floor plans and client instructions, including tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment.
- Operate ride-on tow motors, pallet jacks, and motorized carts safely for moving supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure event areas are repaired and clean prior to use.
- Maintain stocked water and amenity stations throughout meetings.
- Ensure clutter-free and safe event environments, with correct storage and handling of chemicals and materials.
- Perform opening, closing, and daily side-work duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with operations teams to deliver smooth event execution.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a plus.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for long periods.
- May be required to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
