About the Role and Workplace
Situated along the pristine south-eastern coast of Mauritius, Constance Le Chaland provides a tranquil and inspiring setting marked by modern architectural design, abundant natural light, and stunning ocean vistas. The hotel offers a serene beachside environment where teamwork, learning, and a pride in delivering refined hospitality flourish.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of clean linen, towels, robes, and amenities to guest floors.
- Maintain housekeeping pantry stock according to predetermined par levels.
- Keep housekeeping carts stocked and prepared with necessary supplies and amenities.
- Remove used linen, trash, and recycling materials from service areas and guest floors.
- Collaborate with Laundry to maintain continuous availability of linen.
- Support Room Attendants during periods of high occupancy or peak workload.
- Respond quickly and courteously to guest requests for additional items such as towels, pillows, toiletries, or baby cots.
- Adhere to established service time targets for deliveries, generally within 10–15 minutes.
- Greet guests courteously and present a neat and professional appearance.
- Respect guest privacy by complying with Do Not Disturb policies.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in back-of-house corridors and storage spaces.
- Immediately report any maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards.
- Follow all chemical handling procedures and Safety Data Sheet guidelines.
- Conform to fire, life safety, and general safety regulations.
- Attend regular training sessions focused on safety best practices.
- Consistently uphold the hotel’s grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completed Middle or Secondary level education; additional relevant training or certifications are advantageous.
- At least one year of experience in the hotel industry.
- Experience working in luxury resort settings is a positive.
- Background working in remote island environments is beneficial.
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals is a plus.
Technical and Language Skills
- Strong organizational capabilities.
- Excellent customer service skills geared towards guest satisfaction.
- Ability to promptly and politely resolve guest inquiries and complaints.
- Comprehensive understanding of housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards.
- Fluency in English or another language, with strong verbal and written communication.
- Additional language proficiency is an asset.
- Effective time management skills.
