Housekeeping Executive

Overview

The Housekeeping Executive role at Courtyard by Marriott in Kochi, Kerala focuses on supervising and ensuring the quality of cleaning in guest rooms, public spaces, and pool areas. This position involves managing operations, coordinating with various hotel departments, overseeing room status, and assisting with employee management to maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and pool to meet quality standards.
• Run reports of sold rooms, monitor room statuses, identify discrepancies, and prioritize cleaning efforts.
• Update the status of rooms vacated by departing guests and communicate changes effectively.
• Support Housekeeping management in daily task management, including staff coordination.
• Serve as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments.
• Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms alongside the Front Desk.
• Manage documentation and communicate shift changes and room assignments accurately.
• Assist in employee-related activities such as hiring, training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and security policies, report hazards or incidents, and complete necessary training.
• Maintain professional personal appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
• Provide courteous and anticipatory service to guests, supporting individuals with disabilities and maintaining clear professional communication with colleagues.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards consistently.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 55 pounds unassisted and over 55 pounds with help, pushing loaded housekeeping carts across varied surfaces.
• Perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, stooping, and extended periods of standing or walking.
• Use fine motor skills for manipulating objects and operate computers or point of sale systems for task completion.
• Read and verify information presented in various formats and sizes accurately.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• A minimum of one year of relevant housekeeping-related experience is required.
• At least one year of experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping or a related field is preferred.
• No specific licenses or certifications are required.
