About the Role

The Portland Hospital in London is seeking a committed Housekeeping Assistant to become part of its Hotel Services team. This full-time permanent position involves working 37.5 hours per week in shifts between 7am and 11pm over five days, including weekends. Role Purpose and Duties

The Hotel Services team is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting setting within patient rooms, clinical zones, and communal spaces to support patient recovery and reassure visitors. As a Housekeeping Assistant, your responsibilities include ensuring the tidiness and sanitary condition of patient areas, public rooms, and staff spaces. Your work will be highly visible and valued, helping hospital operations run smoothly by collaborating with clinical and non-clinical colleagues and performing additional assigned tasks. You must be comfortable engaging with patients and healthcare staff, demonstrating passion for both cleanliness and care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms, clinical areas, public spaces, and staff zones.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Keep communal areas clean and welcoming for visitors.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by supervisors or other designated personnel.
  • Participate in mandatory annual training sessions.
