Housekeeper

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to ensure the cleanliness and orderly appearance of assigned spaces within a residential environment. This role involves maintaining various common and private areas, promptly reporting any issues, and collaborating effectively with the team. Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on supervisory guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, party rooms, children's playrooms, fitness centers, and other designated areas to meet health and safety standards.
• Vacuum and shampoo rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, and transport trash to disposal zones.
• Transport cleaning supplies and toiletries using wheeled carts.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using manual and powered equipment.
• Dust and polish furniture and various equipment regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate stock within storage areas and cleaning carts.
• Clear debris from exterior areas including driveways, garages, and pools.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, doors, woodwork, and apply waxing and polishing where needed.
• Report maintenance issues such as lighting, leaks, or broken equipment to the maintenance department.
• Disinfect tools and supplies with appropriate germicides or steam sterilizers.
• Dust window blinds thoroughly.
• Uphold all applicable State, Federal, and company safety precautions to ensure a safe work environment.
• Protect residents, guests, and property by reporting damage, theft, or found items to supervisors.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for functions.
• Properly learn and apply safety protocols when using new cleaning equipment.
• Address emergency maintenance requests promptly as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The position operates primarily in residential common areas and includes exposure to chemical cleaning agents and outdoor weather conditions. Physical tasks include prolonged standing and walking, stair and ladder climbing, crawling in tight spaces, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing equipment up to 30 pounds, and repetitive hand movements.

Schedule and Compensation

This hourly, non-exempt role's schedule is set per property needs and is subject to change based on business demands.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with cleaning and sanitizing products and their safe application.
• Experience using standard residential cleaning tools such as vacuums, floor polishers, and cleaning carts.
• Ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
