Position Overview

Under guidance from the Housekeeping Supervisor or Lead Hand, the Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all guest-facing and operational areas throughout the casino. The role demands upholding a positive representation of the casino for both guests and coworkers while adhering to departmental standards and Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission regulations. Candidates must be prepared to operate in environments where smoking occurs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of high school or commensurate work experience is required.
  • Prior experience in cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with floor cleaning machinery and related equipment is necessary.
  • Experience in WHMIS protocols and biohazard cleanup is advantageous.
  • Capacity to stand for extended durations and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced, multitasking setting.
  • Ability to lift weights up to approximately 55 pounds and perform repetitive motions.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work autonomously when required.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of individual accountability.
  • Capability to mentor and train newly onboarded staff members.
  • Willingness to work effectively in a smoking environment.
  • Possession of WHMIS certification or readiness to obtain it.
