Housekeeper

Position Summary

The Hotel Room Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning, restocking, and maintaining assigned hotel rooms to ensure a comfortable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize assigned room list from manager, focusing on early cleaning requests.
• Inspect cleaning cart supplies and replenish as necessary.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment assigned to the role.
• Knock and announce presence before room entry; return later if rooms are occupied.
• Remove used linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets; replace with fresh items.
• Make beds neatly; stock towels and washcloths per hotel standards.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and kitchenette or coffee areas according to hotel policies.
• Wipe down room surfaces and clean mirrors.
• Vacuum floors and manage trash removal.
• Check and restock complimentary items like coffee, snacks, and toiletries following hotel checklist and policy.
• Perform final room inspection to meet hotel quality standards.
• Inform supervisor about room availability and report suspicious activity to security.
• Ensure laundering of soiled linens, including operating washers and dryers when necessary, and folding laundry.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the maintenance department.
• Deliver found items to the designated lost and found area if guest has departed.
• Carry out additional related duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
• Ability to maintain guest privacy and handle situations discreetly.
• Consistently uphold the highest standards in work performance.
• Interact cordially and professionally with guests.
• Basic literacy sufficient for reading product labels and effective job communication.
• Preferred ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English (read, write, speak, understand).

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

• Extended periods of standing and walking; frequent pulling, pushing, and bending.
• Capability to lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Willingness to work on a rotating schedule across a seven-day cycle, including occasional afternoon shifts.
• Possible exposure to risks like slipping, tripping, falling, dirt, humidity, varying temperatures, frequent hand immersion in water, contact with harsh cleaning agents, and repetitive hand washing.
