Position Overview

The House Person is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of all corridors and public areas, adhering strictly to housekeeping standards and safety protocols to enhance guest satisfaction and maintain a welcoming environment.

Primary Duties

• Conduct floor rounds at shift start and end, including removal of newspapers, trays, and emptying trash.
• Dispose of trash and linens appropriately and promptly report areas needing immediate cleaning.
• Clean public spaces such as hallways, elevators, service areas, and stairwells following prescribed safety guidelines.
• Transport soiled linens and trash to designated areas carefully and in line with procedures.
• Assist section housekeepers with tasks like moving bed boards and roll-aways.
• Maintain stock in linen and supply closets to ensure necessary inventories are available.
• Communicate to supervisors regarding lost or found items, damages, or inventory discrepancies.
• Respond courteously to guest inquiries, address their requests, and report any complaints to ensure positive guest experiences.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• No formal education or prior experience is necessary for this position.
• Must demonstrate a proactive attitude and stable temperament.
• Maintain professional appearance standards.
• Effective communication skills to interact with guests, housekeeping team members, and supervisors.
• Ability to assess situations and respond appropriately to maintain service standards.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of vacuuming entire hallways and transporting supplies and linens across floors.
• Frequent bending and kneeling to dust and retrieve dishes placed on floors.
• Mobility to clean diverse areas including shelves, windows, ledges, under furniture, and pipes.
• Endurance to remain standing or walking continuously throughout shifts.
• Regular climbing of stairs, approximately 15% of the workweek involving about 40 steps.

Compensation and Benefits
