Job description
Role Overview
As a House Person, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all corridors and public spaces within the property, adhering to strict housekeeping standards as well as safety and security protocols to guarantee guest satisfaction.
Duties and Tasks
- Conduct rounds of assigned floors at shift start and end to clear newspapers, service trays, and empty trash bins.
- Dispose of trash and soiled linens, noting areas requiring immediate cleaning attention.
- Maintain public areas such as hallways, elevators, service zones, and stairwells thoroughly, following all safety and security regulations.
- Transport soiled linens, terry cloths, and trash from service areas to designated locations using prescribed procedures.
- Provide assistance to section housekeepers when needed, including tasks such as handling bed boards and roll-ways.
- Replenish linen and supply closets to maintain required inventory levels.
- Report any lost or found articles, damages, or product concerns promptly to the Senior Housekeeper or supervisor.
- Address guest inquiries and requests professionally, promptly reporting any complaints to ensure a positive guest experience.

No formal education or previous experience is required for this position.

- Effective communication skills with guests, fellow housekeepers, linen room attendants, and supervisors.
- Ability to evaluate situations and respond appropriately to uphold quality standards.
Physical Requirements
- This role requires physical activities such as pushing a vacuum along hallways, transporting supplies and dirty linens, and collecting room service trays and dishes.
- Bending and kneeling are necessary for dusting and retrieving dirty dishes placed on the floor.
- Maneuvering throughout assigned areas, including shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, as well as under and around furniture, is essential.
- Continuous standing and walking during shifts is expected to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Climbing stairs is required for approximately 15% of a 40-hour workweek (around 40 steps).
