Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

Position Summary

The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor is responsible for verifying the cleanliness and quality of guest rooms, public areas, pools, and other facilities after housekeeping has completed their tasks. The role involves running sold room reports, checking room statuses, identifying discrepancies, prioritizing cleaning tasks, and updating the status of rooms with departing guests. This position supports Housekeeping management by coordinating daily operations and acting as a communication bridge between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments. Documentation and resolution of issues with discrepant rooms through close collaboration with the Front Desk is required. The supervisor prepares and communicates room assignment changes, ensures smooth handovers between shifts, and completes all necessary paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist management with employee recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Adhere strictly to company safety and security protocols; promptly report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete all mandatory safety trainings and certifications.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance and uphold confidentiality of sensitive company information while protecting company assets.
• Greet and acknowledge guests warmly in accordance with company standards, anticipate and fulfill guest service needs, including assistance for guests with disabilities.
• Maintain clear and professional communication; foster positive working relationships; listen and respond effectively to employee concerns.
• Ensure all housekeeping quality expectations and standards are consistently met or exceeded.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving or lifting items up to 55 pounds unassisted and heavier items with assistance, pushing and pulling housekeeping carts over uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, using fine motor skills, and operating work-related computers or POS systems.
• Verify and read information accurately across different formats and complete other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in housekeeping or a similar field.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
