Role Overview
This position is a full-time, on-site Hostess role at the Lord of the Drinks location in Gorakhpur. The hostess will warmly welcome guests upon arrival, manage both reservations and walk-ins, and oversee seating arrangements to ensure efficient table turnover and smooth guest transitions. Responsibilities include maintaining the waiting area, handling incoming phone calls, delivering accurate wait-time information, and liaising with serving staff and management to meet guest needs. The role also involves addressing basic guest questions about the menu and venue, respectfully managing any concerns, and ensuring cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained at the entrance and host station. Collaboration with the service team is essential to foster a welcoming atmosphere and consistent guest experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a polite, professional demeanor in guest interactions.
- Effective communication abilities in English and the local language, including clear speaking and attentive listening.
- Basic organizational skills and time management for handling reservations, waitlists, and seating coordination.
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant setting, maintain composure under pressure, and multitask effectively.
- Professional appearance and a positive, guest-centric outlook on hospitality.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs dictate.
- Prior experience in a hospitality host/hostess or customer-facing position is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with reservation or point-of-sale systems is beneficial, alongside a willingness to learn on the job.
