About Sofitel Dubai The Palm

Role Summary and Key Duties
- Gain comprehensive understanding of the dining room layout, including table, seat, and section numbers, proper table setups, seating capacity, operating hours, pricing tiers, and dress codes.
- Familiarize with restaurant reservation protocols and daily operations such as house counts, guest arrivals and departures, and VIP guest details.
- Stay informed of scheduled group activities within the hotel including locations and timings, as well as all department policies and service standards.
- Respond promptly to telephone calls, within three rings, maintaining professional phone etiquette and correct greetings.
- Manage restaurant reservations and cancellations accurately and in alignment with department standards, ensuring management is updated promptly on any changes during the shift.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of assigned stations, guaranteeing compliance with departmental standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sufficient stock of menus and check folders, keeping the hostess stand organized and tidy.
- Review reservations daily, pre-assign tables, and track special guest requests.
- Warmly welcome guests at the restaurant entrance and seat them fairly according to the floor plan, balancing distribution amongst waitstaff.
- Accompany guests to their designated tables and ensure their satisfaction with seating arrangements.
- Present menus to guests and ensure tables are set to the highest service standards.
- Anticipate peak business periods and coordinate procedures to efficiently manage waiting lines.
- Proactively respond to guests’ needs and acknowledge them promptly regardless of the business volume or time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably hold a degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management.
- Bring a minimum of two years’ experience in hotel operations.
- Strong customer service aptitude, outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
