Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Hindi transcriber to precisely convert conversational audio into written Hindi script. This freelance position requires adherence to strict transcription protocols including capturing every spoken element such as fillers, repetitions, and authentic speech nuances. Candidates should be capable of managing diverse Hindi accents, frequent code-switching, and filtering audio disturbances while maintaining high accuracy and turnaround standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert audio recordings into exact Hindi text, preserving speech patterns verbatim.
- Manage challenges like overlapping speech, unclear segments, background noise, and dialect variations.
- Apply project-specific formatting and transcription guidelines consistently.
- Achieve and uphold transcription accuracy above 97% and meet precise deadlines.
- Incorporate feedback from quality assurance to refine transcriptions.
Candidate Requirements
- Native or near-native Hindi speaker with strong reading and writing proficiency.
- 1 to 3 or more years of relevant experience in transcription, subtitling, captioning, or speech annotation.
- Competent Odia typing ability with a preferred speed over 40 words per minute.
- Excellent auditory skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Adept at deciphering spontaneous, multi-speaker, multilingual conversations.
- Possession of necessary equipment: computer or laptop, stable internet connection, and quality headphones.
Selection Process
- Screening of applications.
- A transcription test lasting 2 to 3 minutes in Hindi to assess skills.
- Candidate evaluation and shortlisting.
- Signing of NDA, followed by onboarding procedures.
- Assignment to production transcription projects.
Compensation and Confidentiality
Payment is performance-based and calculated on approved transcription outputs, with specific rates revealed during onboarding. High achievers could be invited to participate in ongoing assignments or to take on QA/reviewer roles. A non-disclosure agreement is mandatory for access to all project materials to ensure confidentiality.
