Role Overview
Join the West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire teams based in Wellingborough as a Highway Inspector. This role is crucial for maintaining safety and upkeep of the highway network.
Work Location & Hours
Position based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, with hybrid working arrangements. The role requires 37.5 hours weekly with some flexibility available upon discussion.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections on highways adhering to the Highway Safety Inspection Manual and the Code of Practice for Well Managed Highways Infrastructure.
- Document inspection outcomes within an asset management system.
- Prepare work packages to address defects identified.
- Manage a personalized schedule of both walked and driven inspections monthly.
- Support wellbeing initiatives and strive to maintain an inclusive and diverse work environment.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a minimum of GCSE qualifications or equivalent with practical knowledge of highway maintenance or related sectors.
- Experience in highways, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure disciplines is required.
- Previous involvement or eagerness to learn in conducting highway safety inspections through training and guidance.
- Enjoys collaboration with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to implement innovative and efficient solutions.
- Demonstrates a meticulous, safety-focused work ethic emphasizing quality and outstanding customer service.
