About the Role
We are seeking a Highway Inspector to join our team in West Northamptonshire, specifically in Towcester, Northamptonshire. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highway network remains safe and properly maintained.
Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire – hybrid work arrangement
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week with potential flexibility available upon discussion.
Note: We cannot provide certificates of sponsorship for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections across the highway network following the Highway Safety Inspection Manual and the Code of Practice for Well Managed Highways Infrastructure.
- Document inspection outcomes using an asset management system.
- Prepare work packages needed for defect repair.
- Organize and manage a monthly schedule of walked and driven inspections.
- Support wellbeing initiatives and maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, with solid knowledge of highway maintenance or related sectors.
- Hands-on experience in highways, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure settings.
- Either prior experience in highway safety inspections or a motivation to learn through provided training.
- Enjoy partnering with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to devise and implement innovative solutions.
- A methodical and focused work ethic prioritizing safety, quality, and strong customer service.
