About the Role
We are seeking a strategic Head of Engineering to lead our Engineering division. This executive position reports directly to the CEO and oversees engineering strategy, architecture governance, and the delivery framework ensuring resilient, high-performance enterprise software solutions for our clients. The role demands cultivating a culture of excellence, blending advanced corporate strategy with robust execution processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, expand, and implement the engineering vision, technical standards, and operating model aligned with overall business objectives.
- Lead architectural oversight of transactional software platforms and cloud-native applications, ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and client stakeholders to guide technical roadmaps, mitigate risks, and resolve complex client issues.
- Manage and grow a worldwide engineering team comprising developers, architects, and managers, promoting continuous professional development and performance management.
- Create and maintain high-quality software delivery processes covering estimation, test automation, CI/CD, observability, and production support.
- Drive the strategic integration of AI technologies such as generative AI and AI-assisted coding into everyday engineering workflows to boost productivity and foster adoption.
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum 12 years in software engineering with deep technical expertise in high-performance distributed systems.
- At least 6 years in senior leadership roles managing multiple teams and large-scale software delivery initiatives.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in high-transaction real-time technology domains.
- Proven success in building scalable engineering organizations, evolving engineering culture, and managing geographically distributed teams or vendor partnerships.
- Strong proficiency in modern software architecture, cloud-native solutions (preferably AWS), API design, and microservices architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, comfortable presenting complex technical concepts to senior executives and clients.
- Hands-on or strategic experience leveraging AI tools such as large language model APIs, code generation assistants, and agentic automation to increase efficiency.
- Comprehensive understanding of technical governance, risk management, QA automation, and continuous integration and delivery methodologies.
Educational and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or quantitatively focused disciplines.
- Preferred certifications include:
- Knowledge or training in GLI-19 or GLI-33 standards.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or comparable cloud infrastructure architecture credential.
- Security credentials such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
- Enterprise architecture certification like TOGAF 9 or 10.
