Head Coach – Girls’ Athletics Program

About the Role

The Head Coach will spearhead the Girls’ Athletics Program in Qatar, fostering a safe, supportive, and performance-driven environment for young female athletes. This leadership position integrates technical coaching, athlete nurturing, competition strategy, and overall program administration to enhance athlete development and passion for sports.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver tailored athletics training programs suited to the age and skill levels of each athlete.
• Coach across track and field events such as running, jumping, and throwing, ensuring progressive athlete assessment and individualized growth plans.
• Identify promising athletes and establish clear advancement routes to higher competition levels.
• Promote sporting attributes including confidence, teamwork, discipline, and resilience within an inclusive training setting.
• Lead the coaching team by setting the program’s technical direction, overseeing staff duties, and enforcing consistent training standards.
• Organize weekly training protocols, athlete evaluations, camps, and coordinate participation in competitions, ensuring efficient program operation aligned with its goals.
• Prepare and support athletes physically and mentally for competitive events, managing entries, schedules, and on-site logistics during competitions.
• Prioritize athlete safety and welfare by following all relevant safeguarding and child protection policies and maintaining professional, respectful communications with athletes, families, and medical personnel.
• Keep comprehensive records of attendance, performance, and competition results, delivering progress reports and conducting stakeholder meetings as necessary.
• Manage maintenance and safe use of training facilities and equipment while supporting recruitment and community outreach efforts.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Certified in athletics or track and field coaching with a preference for a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related disciplines.
• At least five years of relevant coaching experience, preferably with youth or girls’ athletics programs.
• Demonstrated success in athlete progression and competition readiness.
• Knowledge of youth athletic development principles including conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery protocols.
• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting, plus safeguarding certification preferred.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
