Technical Program Manager - Front-end Semiconductor Chip Development

About the Role

This role involves complete ownership of program management for one or multiple semiconductor chip projects. The successful candidate will coordinate efforts across IC design, MEMS engineering, packaging, testing, foundry/fab partners, and customer-facing teams to keep projects progressing smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead chip development initiatives from initial definition through tape-out, qualification, and volume production scaling.
• Create and maintain intricate program timelines, ensuring milestone achievement and critical path monitoring across design, fabrication, and testing stages.
• Facilitate collaboration among IC design, MEMS/product engineering, packaging and testing teams, as well as quality assurance, spanning multiple global locations.
• Oversee relationships and timelines with foundry and external partners when necessary.
• Detect and escalate project risks, technical challenges, and schedule delays, driving their prompt resolution.
• Serve as the main liaison for customer qualification milestones, working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Provide reports on program status, risks, and strategic decisions to senior leadership and key business units.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project or program management within semiconductor, IC, or chip development settings.
• Comprehensive understanding of the semiconductor chip development lifecycle including design, tape-out, fabrication, packaging, testing, and mass production ramp-up.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and handle multiple stakeholder groups across engineering and business.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with managing projects involving MEMS or sensor-based chip products.
• Track record of working with external foundry or fabrication partners.
• Familiarity with customer qualification protocols for major global OEM clients.
• PMP certification or similar project management accreditation.
