Overview

Join The Home Depot Canada as a Head Cashier where your leadership and customer service skills will help create an outstanding retail experience. This role involves supporting the Front End Supervisor in fostering a motivated front end team and delivering excellent customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate key company behaviours consistently while boosting team morale.
• Maintain checkout efficiency by ensuring lines do not exceed one customer at the register plus two waiting.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs from a customer perspective, ensuring readiness for promotions, signage, and overall shopping environment.
• Observe associate activity and manage staffing to match business demands.
• Provide coaching, training, tools, and recognition to associates to meet expectations and encourage growth.
• Communicate leadership goals and directions clearly to front end staff.
• Ensure parking lot cleanliness and safety for shoppers.
• Assign back-up cashiers to registers as needed and operate cash machines while training others.
• Collaborate with security personnel regarding cash handling procedures.
• Adhere to safety and loss prevention policies to protect assets and minimize shrinkage.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Between 1 to 2 years retail or cash handling experience considered an asset.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.

Additional Information

• Reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
• No travel requirements for this position.
• The salary range for this role is $20.10 to $21.85 per hour.
