Role Overview

The Hardware Design team at Virtu develops FPGA and ASIC solutions integral to the firm's proprietary low-latency trading platform. We seek a skilled FPGA/ASIC Engineer eager to engage with our trading infrastructure, working closely with a compact, international team to tackle challenging hardware design problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create RTL designs for innovative low-latency trading applications.
• Manage full design life cycles from initial specifications to verification and live deployment.
• Enhance simulation, verification, and build processes.
• Lead hardware deployments in operational production environments.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of professional experience with FPGA or ASIC design, or an advanced degree as an equivalent.
• Proficient in RTL design and verification using SystemVerilog or VHDL and frameworks like cocotb.
• Knowledgeable about FPGA/IC development workflows and vendor tools such as Xilinx/AMD, Synopsys, and Cadence.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces including Ethernet/MAC/PHY, PCIe, and AXI.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Programming skills in Python, C++, or equivalent languages.
• Exposure to back-end physical design processes.
• Understanding of network protocols and hardware packet processing (TCP/UDP, IP multicast, offloading).
