Job Overview
Join St. Regis Hotels & Resorts located on The Pearl Island in Doha, Qatar, as a Gym Instructor. This full-time, non-management position includes developing customized exercise programs based on individual fitness assessments, providing expert advice on proper use of fitness equipment, and encouraging a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate guests' current fitness routines and physical condition to tailor personalized exercise plans.
- Offer guidance on correct techniques for exercising with various fitness machines and equipment.
- Manage registration and scheduling for recreational activities, ensuring smooth guest participation.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams or external repair services when equipment requires servicing.
- Maintain cleanliness and adequate supplies in the recreation area, including cups and water.
- Promote safety by enforcing facility rules and regulations to protect guests and members.
- Assist management with employee-related functions such as recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, and motivation, serving as a positive example and first contact for the company's open-door policy.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions promptly to management and participate in safety training and certification programs.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, uphold professional appearance standards, maintain confidentiality, and safeguard company assets.
- Provide warm, personalized guest interactions, anticipate their service requirements, and assist guests with disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and guests, handle correspondence and telephone calls professionally.
- Build and sustain positive professional relationships within the team.
- Process transactions for equipment rentals, recreational activities, and retail sales accurately.
- Strive for continuous improvement in service quality, suggesting and implementing new strategies to enhance organizational standards.
- Perform various physical tasks including standing or walking for long periods, lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, navigating uneven surfaces, and performing bending, twisting, and stooping motions as needed.
- Fulfill additional reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Prior relevant work experience: Less than one year is acceptable.
- Supervisory experience is not necessary.
- Certifications mandatory include CPR and First Aid, as well as training/certification specific to fitness equipment and any local/state agency requirements.
