Primary Objective
The Group Tax Analyst is responsible for overseeing corporate income tax compliance and tax accounting/reporting functions for multiple group companies across various jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, high-quality output, and compliance with both internal and external deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance and tax accounting for assigned group companies and jurisdictions.
- Calculate quarterly tax provisions and prepare related disclosures and reconciliations for the designated entities.
- Record monthly tax expense accruals and update forecasts for cash tax and tax expenses.
- Forecast and execute corporate income tax payments for assigned entities.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet tax accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Encourage continuous improvement by adhering to documented processes and recommending enhancements.
- Review monthly tax accruals and prepare quarterly tax provision calculations, including necessary journal entries.
- Conduct return-to-provision reconciliations and adjust entries post tax return finalization.
- Support team members to ensure correct reporting and clear explanations for tax variances in reports.
- Prepare statutory financial statement tax notes and coordinate with auditors to complete audits on schedule.
- Collaborate with external advisors to facilitate timely preparation and review of tax computations and returns.
- Maintain a due-date tracker for tax returns and proactively develop work plans to meet deadlines.
- Develop and keep updated summaries of relevant tax rules for each jurisdiction to reflect changes in tax law.
- Assist the Group tax team in implementing new finance and tax systems, and ensure accurate configuration of tax provision software (Longview Tax Provision), addressing issues as they arise.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree required.
- Professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
- Tax qualification or substantial experience in tax-specific roles is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in income tax compliance managing multiple entities.
- Experience with tax compliance across various jurisdictions is advantageous.
- Demonstrated proactive, hands-on approach within team settings.
- Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills for clear and concise reporting of progress and recommendations.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical abilities, able to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ERP, consolidation systems, and tax provision software preferred, especially Workday and/or Longview.
Functional Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Robust accounting and tax accounting knowledge, especially regarding deferred tax.
- Strong organizational capabilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent academic background combined with good commercial insight.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive work ethic.
