Role Overview

Based in Darwin, this role involves managing payroll processes for multiple entities within the DCOH Group. The successful candidate will ensure payroll compliance, accuracy, and timely execution while providing detailed workforce reporting and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee complete payroll processing for all group companies, guaranteeing accuracy and punctual payments.
  • Manage payroll transactions including onboarding, terminations, timesheet inputs, adjustments, and off-cycle pays.
  • Calculate termination entitlements, prepare Separation Certificates, and handle payroll matters during employee offboarding.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records, tax details, banking information, and related documentation.
  • Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries.
  • Administer payroll cash operations such as ABA file creation, banking uploads, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure statutory payroll obligations like PAYG, IAS, superannuation, and workers' compensation reports are prepared and submitted.
  • Support end-of-financial-year payroll activities including reconciliations, leave provisions, STP finalization, and audits.
  • Generate labour cost, payroll, and headcount reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams.
  • Provide payroll data insights to aid workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Maintain and support payroll and HumanForce systems, including upgrades, integrations, and data integrity checks.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes, reporting, efficiency, and automation.
  • Keep accurate payroll procedures and documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and People & Culture departments to ensure smooth payroll information flow.
  • Champion a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, continuous enhancement, and uphold professional ethics representing DCOH.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in high-volume payroll roles, ideally covering multiple entities or business segments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in managing payroll processes, reconciliation, and preparing payroll-related reports.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret payroll data and identify meaningful trends.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to precision and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of meeting strict payroll deadlines.
  • Effective communicator capable of engaging professionally with employees, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience using payroll, time and attendance, and financial systems such as HumanForce or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to contribute to process improvements, system upgrades, and payroll governance initiatives.
