Position Overview

The Group Accountant will oversee comprehensive accounting duties for Chaos’s Holding entities and Management company. Acting as a Global Process Owner for group consolidation, this role collaborates closely with international teams to implement efficient financial processes and scale operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle the entire accounting cycle—general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and periodic close procedures—for Holdings and Management entities under German GAAP and group requirements across eight countries.
  • Serve as the main liaison for external auditors, tax consultants, and statutory compliance filings.
  • Coordinate local treasury functions and payment schedules in conjunction with the group finance department.
  • Establish and maintain unified global consolidation standards, optimize workflows, address process gaps, and promote automation using NetSuite and related finance systems.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual closing activities to ensure consolidated financial statements comply with international accounting standards.
  • Assist the Accounting Director in identifying and implementing finance process improvements to enhance efficiency and foster a culture of continuous optimization.
  • Utilize Lucanet consolidation software to maintain data accuracy and prepare consolidated financial reports effectively.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven expertise in financial accounting within international corporate environments, preferably in technology, software, or SaaS sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of German statutory requirements and local GAAP, with IFRS familiarity regarded favorably.
  • Experience managing large-scale multinational group consolidations and international accounting standards.
  • Successful track record leading process improvement initiatives within finance functions.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in German GAAP and statutory reporting obligations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and consolidation principles.
  • Practical experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems and financial tools tailored to software firms.
  • Proficiency with LucaNet consolidation software.
  • Fluency in both English and German (spoken and written); additional languages advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multi-cultural, global teams and varying time zones.
  • A strategic, process-oriented mindset that identifies inefficiencies and formulates scalable group-wide financial solutions.

Education and Certifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA or CIMA are beneficial but not mandatory if compensated by significant practical expertise.
