Job Overview
The Grounds, Facilities and Stock Assistant is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of all outdoor areas, as well as managing daily stockroom activities effectively within the Byrne Hotel Group in Galway.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain external spaces including lawns, gardens, pathways, and parking areas at a superior level of neatness and care.
- Perform groundskeeping tasks such as mowing grass, edging, weeding, planting, pruning, and watering.
- Keep outdoor premises free of litter and debris consistently.
- Assist with hiver and seasonal maintenance chores such as leaf removal and application of gritting/salting.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment with safety and responsibility.
- Identify and report any damage or maintenance needs found outdoors.
- Help transport outdoor furniture, tools, and materials as needed.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines while performing all tasks.
- Oversee receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials, tools, and supplies in the stock room.
- Maintain the stock room in an orderly, clean, and secure condition.
- Store stock properly and securely to prevent damage or loss.
- Distribute materials and equipment to team members upon request.
- Rotate stock effectively to utilize older inventory first.
- Notify management of low stock levels and support supply ordering processes.
- Handle and move stock safely, using proper equipment and protocols.
- Provide assistance to the facilities and operations team and support external contractors as required.
- Ensure maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery in sound condition and promptly report any faults.
- Follow company policies, particularly regarding health and safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Carry out any additional duties deemed reasonable for this position.
