Grounds and Maintenance Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and versatile Grounds and Maintenance Officer to maintain the functionality and appearance of our Residential Aged Care facility in Rockhampton, England. This role involves hands-on upkeep and repairs that ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Primary Duties

• Conduct general building repairs and preventative maintenance, coordinating contractors when necessary
• Maintain lawns, gardens, walkways, and outdoor spaces to a high standard
• Perform routine upkeep such as waste removal, gutter cleaning, watering, pruning, and planting
• Handle tools and equipment safely, including power garden tools and ride-on mowers
• Keep maintenance records accurate to support regulatory compliance and adhere to safety guidelines
• Assist with inventory control and perform basic administrative tasks like invoice processing and updating registers
• Collaborate within a friendly, multidisciplinary team environment that promotes respect and cooperation

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in general maintenance and gardening activities
• Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety standards related to grounds and maintenance work
• Skilled in groundskeeping and gardening techniques
• Experienced in using power garden tools and operating ride-on mowers
• Either hold or are willing to obtain a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
