Grocery Helper Clerk

Overview

The Grocery Helper Clerk plays a key role in delivering top-tier customer service while efficiently managing grocery stock. Duties include stocking and rotating products such as grocery, dairy, frozen, and bulk items. They are also the primary contact for special orders and customer inquiries regarding groceries.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding, professional customer service.
• Stock and rotate grocery, dairy, frozen, and bulk inventory.
• Maintain well-faced grocery, dairy, and freezer aisles.
• Organize and manage back-stock products efficiently.
• Assist customers with special orders and address grocery-related questions.
• Keep the store clean and orderly at all times.
• Bag groceries and assist with carryout tasks when necessary.
• Handle Direct Store Delivery (DSD) orders as assigned.
• Adhere to all sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards within the department.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated ability to provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
• Physically able to meet the role’s demands, including sustained standing, bending, twisting, and regularly lifting weights between 10 and 40 pounds.
• Must hold a valid Food Worker Card issued by the Washington State Department of Health.

Compensation

The starting wage is between $17.63 and $17.83 per hour.
