Position Overview

IKO is seeking a creative, self-driven Graphic Designer to contribute to our creative team. This role involves close collaboration with the creative director, art director, and senior designers to support various design projects and production activities based in Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the creative team under the direction of senior design leadership.
• Provide pre-press production support aligned with brand standards.
• Retouch images and develop diverse brand assets while enhancing technical and interpersonal skills.
• Create graphics, social media content, advertisements, banners, and infographics according to briefs and branding guidelines.
• Prepare and format print materials such as brochures, flyers, and signage to meet output specifications.
• Update and resize creative materials; edit images and video content as needed.
• Ensure all design elements comply with established branding rules, including typography, color schemes, and style.
• Collaborate with marketing and senior design teams to fulfill project objectives.
• Proof designs to assure quality, accuracy, and consistency before final approval.
• Maintain organization of project files and design libraries.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; experience with Figma or Canva is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of typography, layouts, grids, color theory, and visual composition.
• University degree in graphic design and an accessible online portfolio demonstrating creative projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail with effective time management to juggle multiple projects and offer innovative ideas.
• Basic competence in motion graphics and video editing with Premiere and After Effects is a plus.
• Introductory understanding of HTML and CSS is also beneficial.
