Job Overview
The Grader SS Day Shift role ensures that only products meeting quality standards and customer specifications continue along the production line. Accuracy in piece counts and strict adherence to quality guidelines are essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Visually assess products as they enter the line to confirm conformity with customer-specified criteria such as quality, weight, and count.
- Identify and remove defective products, sorting them into designated defect categories.
- Successfully complete and pass a customer specification test to qualify for the position.
- Flexibly rotate among different on-line positions as operational demands require.
- Collaborate actively within the team, contributing to communication, development, and implementation of team initiatives and policies.
- Attend pertinent team meetings and promote cohesion on major organizational matters including plans, budgets, and policy changes.
- Proactively identify and address any team cohesion challenges by engaging leadership and supporting issue resolution to enhance organizational synergy.
- Uphold and support the company's operating systems including quality, security, office environment, and policy compliance by understanding individual impact and communicating improvement suggestions.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support overall business goals, allowing for creative and flexible job performance beyond typical responsibilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Occasional twisting of neck and waist with constant standing for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Frequent bending at the neck and waist, repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand motions.
- Use of fine motor skills and vision essential for the role.
- Light lifting and carrying of up to 10 lbs related to product grading tasks.
- Work performed indoors around noisy machinery in a wet, cold environment with surfaces such as drains and footbaths.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment including hearing protection, protective eyewear, smock, apron, gloves, hair/beard nets, and slip-resistant footwear.
