Role Purpose
ZURU prioritizes hiring top talent and currently maintains two Talent Acquisition (TA) operations: one serving New Zealand, Australia, the Americas, and Europe, and another in China. This role aims to unify both into one cohesive global function with unified standards, data, and a strategic pipeline to support ZURU's rapid growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead an integrated global TA strategy across International and China regions, elevating them to a single unified standard.
- Anticipate and support hiring demands aligned with ZURU’s growth exceeding 30% annually.
- Ensure hiring processes and candidate experiences are consistent worldwide regardless of location.
- Provide leaders with clear guidance and enable rapid recruitment execution without micromanagement.
- Evaluate and restructure TA function including team roles, workflows, and key performance indicators to address recruitment challenges and support growth.
- Design resource allocation models to reflect organizational expansion.
- Develop frameworks, standardized processes, and promote widespread adoption.
- Empower hiring managers through training and clear frameworks to manage recruitment aspects independently.
- Optimize TA systems and tools to streamline onboarding and effectiveness of new team members.
- Oversee early careers and campus recruitment programs to ensure strategic alignment, structural clarity, and continuous improvement benefiting all markets.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to craft employer branding strategies and campaigns that position ZURU attractively to prospective candidates globally, especially in emerging markets.
- Own the employer value proposition and ensure an outstanding candidate experience worldwide.
- Establish proactive candidate sourcing and pipeline building functions to foster relationships ahead of open roles.
- Integrate AI technologies in sourcing, screening, scheduling, and assessments to automate repetitive tasks and enhance recruitment efficiency.
- Drive accountability via impactful KPIs, forecasting, and reporting, elevating TA into a disciplined business function.
- Mentor TA Managers to develop capabilities for future director-level leadership.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive leadership experience in Talent Acquisition across multiple countries, ideally bridging Western and Greater China markets.
- Proven ability to redesign TA functions, including team structure, processes, and resource planning to accommodate rapid growth.
- Strong expertise in data-driven TA management, including reporting and forecasting.
- Interest and insight into AI’s impact on recruitment and the capability to integrate relevant innovations effectively.
- Experience coaching and empowering hiring managers to enhance their recruitment involvement.
- Capability to simultaneously manage strategic planning and operational delivery in a streamlined team environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly to China to unify global TA teams.
- Ability to navigate complex challenges and excel in bridging strategic vision and practical execution.
- Proven relationship-building skills and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Location
This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand, and requires onsite work with frequent travel to China.
